I love the playfulness of polka dots, and when I managed to capture my daughter's bright smile digitally, I decided to use polka dots for her first birthday invitation. A pink circle served as the base; text was hand screenprinted in orange to match the envelopes. I used different sized punches to cut the photo and cheerful, multi-colored dots.
