ABOUT POSH PEACOCK

In my former life as an academic, I spent a lot of time working in stark (sometimes windowless) labs. It's no wonder that in my off time I surrounded myself with color (in the form of art and design projects) and space (e.g., the ocean, as pictured with my daughter). In the summer of 2006 I finally decided to quit my academic research gig and make style, color, and happiness a part of my daily experience.

I'm a self-taught, Boston-based artist who loves to create beautiful pieces to celebrate life's transitions and milestones, as well as the everyday relationships we share with loved ones. Over the years I have found that some custom clients have a clear sense of what they want; others have absolutely no idea. In either case, my goal is to listen to a client, get a sense of their style, and translate my "research" to something tangible, beautiful, and distinctive. I launched my custom portfolio on Posh Peacock in October 2006.

Soon after the launch, however, I mulled over how to make my work more accessible to clients who were on a budget and/or were intimidated by the complete custom process. Those ruminations, plus the fact that I found myself creating more and more graphic illustrations, resulted in the semi-custom line I launched in January 2007. I am especially happy that my collection offers considerable flexibility while still allowing a customer to create a distinct piece.

When I'm not working on design and production for Posh Peacock, I'm publishing Boston Mamas, editing academic manuscripts, experimenting in the kitchen, cleaning up fingerpaints, dreaming about the ocean, and generally enjoying life with my husband and daughter.
